About

The Laughlin's in Pennsylvania have quite a few interests... Probably more than I am listing here!

Here's a short list of some of the things that we do when we aren't working.

  • Scouts - Lou was the former Cubmaster and Den Leader of Cub Scout Pack 481.  Josh is Life Scout working on his Eagle rank, and is the current Senior Patrol Leader of Boy Scout Troop 481.
  • Bowling - Now who doesn't enjoy an opportunity to vent frustration by watching 3lb. pieces of wood go flying when you smack them with a 16lb. ball.  Well Rick and Lou are the members of the "Retalix Strikers" team in the Thursday night bowling league at Freeway Lanes, in Zelienople, PA.  I know it's not the most creative bowling team name, but we used to be called "Men in Black", and "Turkey Hunters", so you determine which is better!  Besides with the current name, my company Retalix is buying us bowling shirts!

  • Poker - Every once in awhile, we get together with a few friends, and enjoy a night of card playing.  Of course we don't really have any money as we are all poor, but we have a good time none the less!  "Texas Hold'em" is sweeping the nation on TV and Internet.  We play that on occasion, but usually our games are a little more unique.

  • Volleyball - We used to play quite a bit, but since we were told we aren't that good, well... We haven't played as much recently.
  • Football - Well, we don't play this as much as we used to, but we sure do watch it.  Rick has a Fantasy Football League team, so he not only watches our favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, but also just about every other NFL game he can.

  • Baseball - If I could afford season tickets to the Pittsburgh Pirates, I would be there for every possible game.  Of course I would probably have to take my brother, Rick, as well!
  • Flea Markets and Yard Sales - No I am not talking about going out and buying fleas! Although I think I have gotten a case of fleas or two at these markets.  Seriously though, if you want a good bargain, the best place to find them outside of eBay is a Flea Market, Yard Sale, or Garage Sale.
    • A regular site we go to is in Rogers, OH
    • When we visit family in Brimfield, OH, we go to the nearby market in Hartville, OH
