Laughter
This one has a bit to do with my cross country experiences, but only a little. I wrote this and tied cross country into it, so don't think that the origional reason I wrote it was because of cross country, not that that will really affect how you read it. I just hope you all like it, and of course, I hope that someone will help me out and leave some constructively criticising comments.
Laughter
I came, I saw,
You laughed in my face
I left, I ran,
You picked up the pace
I stopped, I cried,
You finished the race
I stood, I pushed,
Now I’ll win the race
You’ll fall, You’ll break,
but I won’t laugh in your face
Laughter
I came, I saw,
You laughed in my face
I left, I ran,
You picked up the pace
I stopped, I cried,
You finished the race
I stood, I pushed,
Now I’ll win the race
You’ll fall, You’ll break,
but I won’t laugh in your face

Post a CommentHow does a person criticize poetry? It's like going to the art gallery and saying... I would have painted that with a #2 brush and watercolors instead of with oil and my fingers...
You just read it, ponder it, let it sink in, and enjoy it.

There's tons of ways to criticize poetry. You can say that perhaps I should have used a different word to get my meaning across better, or a different literary device. You could say that I used to many literary devices, or not enough. You could correct any grammatical errors. You could suggest I rewrite a line because you think that it breaks flow. As you can see, there are tons of ways to criticize poetry.

Then a person would have to "understand" the mechanics of poetry to criticize it... What about those that read it and aren't really sure of it's intended meaning? What about those people who read it and ponder it from their point of view, rather than the author's?

Well, then why don't those people read it and tell me the point of view they read it from, and how they interpreted it. That could help me in the long run. All I'm trying to say is, everyone can criticize poetry, because it's not all that hard, as long as you can read...sorry richie, that means you're out...
